Journal Entry:
"Up around 7 am, I wonder what the breakfast crowd was like. Guess I'll find out on my solo lunch bid. Decided to put in for the R-DAP program next week. If I can, who knows? I ran the numbers, and if I'm right between that program and the current CARES Act I could get out by spring/summer of next year. Why not? I'm in the consensus that this place sucks anyway. New project to work on. Working on Null this morning. My options are limited. Maybe I'll run the numbers again, you know I suck at math. R-DAP vs. doing nothing. I think I know the answer but make sure.
'You're in my seat' is still on hold but here's a bunch of new stuff to look for upon release:
The French Dispatch: Wes Anderson
Dune - Reboot
Don't Look Up - Adam McKay - Netflix
The Many Saints of Newark - Prequel to Sopranos
Dexter: New Blood Nov. 7
Curb your Enthusiasm 11th season
Foundation - AppleTV
Invasion - Oct 22
CSI: Vegas
La Brea - NBC
The Harder They Fall - Idris Elba
The Power of the Dog - Benedict Cumberbatch
My two solo shifts weren't much. No one showed. A white shirt showed at dinner and asked what the issue was. I think he got the gist of it. For me it is the phones and email. I can't speak for anyone else. But if we get them back, I'll go eat. Those are worth a shot."

Notes for Day 95 (Four Years Later)
The RDAP Pivot: This day was critical because it was the first time I seriously considered the RDAP (Residential Drug Abuse Program). Counting on Steve to do anything beyond the bare minimum just wasn't cutting it anymore. I saw "E" and another inmate get approved and realized that RDAP could get me up to a year off my sentence.
The "SHU" Bet: "E" and I had a running bet since our time in the SHU (Special Housing Unit) over who would walk out of prison first. Even though he had been in for 15 years, I never turn down a bet. Getting out earlier meant more access to the resources and legal materials I needed for my actual defense.
Maintaining the Connection: Since I went to prison because of movies, my connection to the industry runs deep. If I couldn't do "You’re in my seat" due to the lockdown, I could at least fantasize about the movies I’d watch upon release. This list—including Dune and The French Dispatch—maintained my identity as a filmmaker.
The Math of Freedom: I admitted then (and now) that I suck at math, but I was obsessively running the numbers between RDAP, the CARES Act, and the First Step Act. I was looking for any exit ramp that would get me back to my creative life by the spring or summer of 2022.
