Journal Entry:
"Woke up at 2 am, could not get back to sleep, tried several tricks. Had a honey lemon drink, etc. etc. Fell back asleep till 7:30. Went into the Law Library. Might start doing that in the am; less traffic in there. More research time. We'll see. Nice brisk fall (?) day.
Worked on Null, getting excited about the Dracula/Mummy arc (for lack of a better word), and using PD [Public Domain] characters in the series.
LUNCH: Homemade breaded ck [chicken] sandwich, had a cajun or mesquite taste to it. Baked beans, potato wedges, salad (lettuce), bread pudding. (300?) (Pics)"
Extra Notes (Opposite Page)
You're in My Seat:
Scarlett Johansson (Bachelorette party goes bad). Seen it before, was ok.
The Departed - Need to say more.
Movies I want to see when I get out:
Cry Macho - Eastwood (New Addition - Newspaper)
The Eyes of Tammy Faye
Last Night in Rozzie - Nicky Whelan, Neil Brown Jr., Jeremy Sisto.
Blue Bayou - Cael Kettle, Justin Chon, Alicia Vikander.
Notes for Day 91 (Four Years Later)
Looking back, the brevity of this entry was because I was still physically recovering. I was doing my best just to get a few lines down while dealing with that 2 am insomnia.
Despite the fatigue, I was really starting to get excited about the Dracula/Mummy arc in the Null series. That excitement hasn't faded; I'm still passionate today about using the Public Domain in my work. It’s the perfect intersection of my creative drive and my legal fight—using these "orphaned" characters is my way of physically demonstrating my beliefs on copyright reform and the "bettery of society".
The movie list on the opposite page is a poignant reminder of how I used "future-thinking" to survive. I wasn't just watching what was available in the common room; I was reading the newspapers and tracking new releases like Eastwood’s Cry Macho, planning for a life beyond the fence.
