Journal Entry:
“Slept after a fashion, crazy time dreams. I thought about turning on a light and writing them down, but I didn’t—not sure it would be legible anyway. Little or no recall now. It was 7:20 before I woke up. H/L drink, Meds. Still tired but must push on.
LUNCH: Hamburgers, roll, FF, bread pudding. Ate most of it, left some; still felt like I ate too much. I’ll skip most of supper. Will not gain weight—3 laps today.
Came up with a new book idea for ‘E’ to write, not me, though I may assist with it: ‘How to Make Money Selling Marijuana in 2025… Legally.’ Kind of a juxtaposition book, with E using his old knowledge of weed sales in today’s legal marketplace.
Positive > Negative > Back to Positive
Update every year—2026 Updated!
Target different states and do regional books/magazines/internet (maybe different Kindle versions based on regions).
Organized the Debarment paperwork. Unless Steve or someone else convinces me otherwise, I’m appealing before Sept 30. I’ll look over the three documents and see if I can poke holes in them and try to get the sentencing transcript (again, write Steve). Why not? I’ve got a pretty good idea why they are doing it. Why make it easy? And I’m thinking about Plan M again; might spark something. Tell it once, then never again. See what happens.
SUPPER: Chef Salad. Beets, some sort of gross soup, bread. The chicken & egg into reserve; ate the salad, beets. Bread into PB reserve.
Nice day outside, gonna do 3 laps for real.
‘You’re in My Seat’ – Sicario, or something like that. The drug/action movie with Josh Brolin. I’d seen it before and liked it. The sequel, not so much.”
Notes for Day 85 (Four Years Later)
A pretty mild entry. The strongest part was my discussion with ‘E’ about the possible future collaboration on the "Pot Book." Might still happen; we’ll see after May 2026. The reason for the idea was that I was writing in the common area, and he came along with the book he was writing about his life and his case. He had gotten quite far with it and was always asking for my feedback and advice on publishing.
This made me feel good because he started that book in the SHU at my urging. Seeing him “stay with it” made me feel like I had a positive influence on him. I was happy to give him support and encouragement.
The legal weed book idea was originally his, and I just added my thoughts to the project. There would be some sweet irony to him writing a successful book inspired by what he went to prison for—distributing illegal marijuana—and now doing the exact same thing legally. If he finished his bio and this project because I inspired him, it would be one of those things that make my incarceration time worth it.
